UCP Checker is the independent reference for Universal Commerce Protocol readiness. It validates any merchant's UCP manifest against the spec, monitors agent accessibility, and maintains the largest neutral index of agent-ready stores. It operates independently and is not affiliated with Google, Shopify, or the UCP consortium — a neutral measurement layer for agentic commerce.
Why independence matters
An agent-readiness check is only useful if it has no stake in the answer. Platforms can't neutrally grade their own adoption, and tools tied to a checkout can't neutrally rank the alternatives. UCP Checker is built so the result is the same no matter who's asking.
No platform stake
We don't sell a commerce platform, a checkout, or an agent. There's nothing in our results we'd benefit from ranking up or down.
One yardstick for everyone
Every store is checked against the same public spec, the same way, on the same schedule. No store can pay for a better result.
Open by default
The validator, status pages and directory are free to use, and an early snapshot of the directory (April 2026) is on Hugging Face under CC-BY 4.0, though it is no longer updated. What each check looks at is documented, so anyone can see how a result was reached.

The validator, the status pages, and the directory are free to use and require no account. The neutral utility stays neutral by staying open.
What we measure
Two sides of the protocol: whether a store's published manifest is valid, and whether an AI agent can actually transact against it.
Validate the manifest
We fetch each store's /.well-known/ucp and validate it against the live UCP spec — capabilities, transports, payment handlers, signing keys.
Monitor accessibility
Stores are re-checked every 24 hours, including the AI bot policy matrix — whether agents like GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended are allowed in.
Index the ecosystem
The largest neutral, public directory of agent-ready stores — filterable by status, platform, capability, and transport, each with a permanent status page.
Test at runtime
Beyond the document, we run real AI agent sessions against live stores — search, add-to-cart, checkout — to verify what an agent can genuinely do, not just what's declared.
